Harbor Assist

P&R Water Taxi has the ability to assist government and commercial harbor traffic with our fleet of tug boats.  Our Tiger Tug class, Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) fleet are US flagged vessels and were built in Hawai'i.  The uniformed design of our Tiger Class tugs provide predictable and consistent performance.  Predictability in performance allows the minimization and control of variables in a vessels' port evolution.  These tugs provide up to 4,400 HP with fire-fighting capability of  3,000 GPM.  The fleet is inspected annually by the American Bureau of Shipping and the United States Coast Guard.

Our fleet of harbor tugs service government and commercial vessel traffic.  The tug boats in our government fleet (P&R Water Taxi) provide docking assistance to vessels arriving or departing Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam by the U.S. Navy and other government charters.  The tug boats in our commercial fleet (P&M Marine Services) provide docking assistance for commercial vessels arriving and departing all major Hawai'i ports.  The type of commercial vessels we assist include, but are not limited to; cruise ships, container ships, tankers, and barges.

P&R Water Taxi has a long-standing working relationship with the State of Hawai'i Harbors Division, the Navy, and government charters extending over 40 years. Our company has a large shoreside maintenance department.  With shipyard facilities, we can maintain and repair all systems on our tractor tugs. 

Area of operation for our government fleet is Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and surrounding navigable waters, including the island of 'Oahu.  The ports of operation for our commercial fleet include: Nawiliwili (Kaua'i), Port Allen (Kaua'i), Kalaeloa Barber's Point (O'ahu), Honolulu Harbor (O'ahu) , Kahului (Maui), Kawaihae (Hawai'i Island), and Hilo (Hawai'i Island).
